Leaf Collection
LOOSE LEAF COLLECTION BEGINS NOVEMBER 2
Leaf Collection for the City of Huntsville will begin on November 2, 2009 and run through February 15, 2010.
The City provides
seasonal loose leaf collection from Nov. 2, 2009 until Feb. 15, 2010.
Guidelines
Following are some preparation guidelines for loose leaves:
1 Leaves should be raked
behind the
curb, NOT in the gutter. Putting leaves in the gutter can cause drainage and/or traffic problems.
2 Do NOT mix sticks, rocks, pine cones,
limbs, or other debris with loose leaves. Vacuum equipment cannot collect anything but loose leaves.
3 Do NOT park cars too close to leaf piles.
This could prevent collection and could also cause a fire hazard.
4Do
NOT place loose leaves in automated containers. This causes them to
scatter and blow during collection.
The most efficient method of leaf collection is bagging your leaves. If you choose to bag
leaves, limit the weight of the bags to 50 pounds or less and put them at
the curb on your regular trash collection day.
