The Mission of WPC:
The mission of Water Pollution Control is to provide a high quality of service to our customers and to maintain excellence by preserving the quality of water for future generations.
Clean water is critical to our lives.
We must have clean water to drink and to cook with. We need clean water for so much of our
recreation.
The Water Pollution Control Department (WPC) plays an important role in keeping our community's water safe. WPC is responsible for removing pollutants from the wastewater ("sewage") we all generate every day in our homes, schools, businesses, industries, and other facilities.
Each year, WPC purifies literally billions of gallons of wastewater, returning the clean reclaimed water to our waterways.
In short, WPC recycles water. Removing pollutants from wastewater is part of the job. Getting the wastewater to a WPC facility for treatment is equally important. WPC is committed to doing both jobs reliably and efficiently. Working with the US EPA, WPC has implemented CMOM programs which are further improving our system.
The WPC website is designed to show you more about who we are, what we do, and how we protect your water. We hope that you enjoy your visit.
